kebab shop insurance?
Running a kebab shop is no small feat, from late-night rushes to keeping your equipment sizzling. But whether you’re serving up doner wraps, shish platters, or falafel boxes, you never know when unexpected could disrupt your business.

Why do kebab shops need insurance?
Even the busiest kebab shops face unexpected challenges. Having the right insurance in place can help protect against the following:

- Your stock spoils due to a power outage
- An employee gets injured as a result of their work
Kebab shop insurance can help you manage these risks as you go about serving up the best kebabs in town.

What doesn’t it cover?
While kebab shop insurance provides a wide range of cover, there are some exclusions, including:
- Intentional damage – Damage caused on purpose isn’t covered.
- Neglect – Failing to maintain equipment or secure your property may void your policy.
- General wear and tear – Normal ageing or wear on equipment and stock isn’t included.
Double-check your policy details or speak to our team if you have any questions about what’s covered and what isn’t.
How much does kebab shop insurance cover cost?
Prices could start from around £1.61 a day*.
But your business is unique, and your price can depend on a number of factors, including:
- Extent of cover — The more cover you opt for, the more expensive your package will likely be.
- Your insurer — Depending on who is willing to insure you, the price for their policies will vary.
- Location — The location of your business is taken into consideration when calculating the cost of your premiums.
- Claims history — If you’ve made a previous claim on your policy or had claims made against you, it may affect your future premiums.
*This price is for a pubs and restaurant policy – 10% of customers who were sold with one of our panel providers paid £588.20 or less annually (excluding any additional administration fees) between 01/01/25 & 31/12/2025. Equivalent to £49.02 a month or £1.61 a day (and excludes the extra costs for paying monthly). Your actual policy and price may vary based on your business requirements.
Do you need cover if you use a deep-fat fryer?
Yes, deep-fat fryers are essential for many kebab shops, but they also come with increased fire risks. You may need additional cover to protect your business from accidents or equipment malfunctions. At Bionic, we’ll help you find the right policy to help keep your shop sizzling safely.
How is risk calculated for kebab shops?
Insurers assess risks based on factors like your premises, equipment and business operations. For example, if you use deep-fat fryers in your shop, this can increase your risk of fires, while more central locations may be at a higher exposure to theft compared to kebab shops in quieter areas.
Are you covered for takeaway delivery drivers?
We can cover the food being delivered by the takeaway driver, but the driver must hold their own public liability and business vehicle insurance.
